Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) is a medical specialty that is essentially a combination of non-surgical orthopaedics and neurology. PM&R takes an approach that puts the primary emphasis on function. We want to get you back to living life and doing the things you want and need to do. Dr. Michaels focuses on painful conditions of the bones, joints, muscles, and connective tissue. His primary focus is painful conditions of the spine including neck pain and headaches, low back and leg pain (sciatica). Dr. Michaels has extensive training and experience in fluoroscopically-guided interventional spinal procedures, nerve blocks, epidural steroid injections and spinal joint injections. He uses these injections as a part of a comprehensive integrative approach to medicine. When not practicing medicine, Dr. Michaels enjoys spending time with his family, exercising, and woodworking. He is a triathlete, weight lifter, and practices yoga regularly. Dr. Michaels lives with his wife and two teenage daughters in Findlay. Dr. Michaels is committed to each one of his patients and wants every patient to receive the individualized care they deserve. He strives to keep the focus on his patients and to give them the tools needed to manage their own pain through physical therapy, chiropractic, nutrition, exercise, injections, and surgery, if necessary.
